Reaching out to the needy
Matthew 25:31-46
Our world is currently full of people who are hurting, in need and as a result has turn their back on God and embrace the way of darkness i.e. prostitution, drugs, stealing, fornication, adultery etc.
As Christians (being God’s earthly representatives) we need not only to stand in prayers for those in need and are hurting nor evangelism but in addition to all these let us also demonstrate the love of Christ through the act of giving.
I travelled to an African country early this year (2009) by the grace of God. It was shocking to find out that many believers are losing their faith through poverty. Which as we learn/continue to share our resources as individual as little as it can be we can combat the devil. I must mention that this is happening not just in Africa but across the whole world.
But I want to encourage you to cultivate the act of sharing and giving, as we can combat the devil’s lies to people by demonstrating God’s love through an act of giving. God did not just love us, but He gave us His only begotten Son, through whom we are saved (John 3:16).
One of God’s way design for us to defeat the devil’s work in the lives of people is by us showing people the true love of Christ by demonstration.
In the book of Acts 2, it reveals how the early believers shared everything they had that no one had a lack. So must we learn from our fore runners, so that we can overcome the work of the devil against us as believers and unbelievers.
