Prayer
What happens when you do not pray?
In Matthew chapter 26:41, Jesus told His disciple to pray so that they will not enter into temptation. He was not telling them that temptation will not come but He showed them, that to have an upper hand over temptation prayer is the key. Jesus Himself demonstrated the power of prayer through out His ministry and we can see the significant and vibrant His stay on earth was. For example see what happened as He prayed in Matthew 17 (Known as the transfiguration).
When you pray it allows intimacy with God the opposite is experienced when one decides not to pray.
Prayer brings forth revelation, in Matthew 17 the transfiguration happened as our Lord Jesus was praying.
Simply put, without making a long list, when you don’t pray you become weak spiritually and the enemy tramples on you instead of you trampling on him. Most importantly you loose intimacy with God.
The importance of prayer
It brings forth revelation- It allows us to have access to God’s master plan in every single thing we want to indulge in as we acknowledge Him. Jeremiah 33:3
We receive strength- God through prayer can dispatch angle to come and minister to us in our weakness to bring forth strength for us to carry on. Luke 22:39-46.
It allows things to happen to your favour (everything which you desire that is God’s will I mean). As you seek God’s assistance through prayer whatever you ask in Jesus name you will receive. John 14:14
What makes a person’s prayer dynamic?
A dynamic prayer is a prayer that produces results. A prayer can produce results when is prayed in the will by a person who has a relationship with God. When a person is holy and has absolute faith in God wherever and whenever they pray something happens. Holiness is important because prayer is effective in the absence of sin this is why it is important to always ask the Lord for forgiveness. See Psalm 68:18. I encourage you to strife for a holy living and desire and be determine as well as discipline to have faith in God regardless. See Hebrews 11:1-2
What is a fervent prayer?
James 5:16
The above scripture reveals that the fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. A fervent prayer is when a person prays passionately and looking unto Jesus, trusting in Him and rejoicing by faith that his/her prayer has been heard by God regardless whatever in going inside or around him/her.
Whenever you are praying love and enjoy it because it is a conversation with a loved One who is always faithful. God never disappoints so be rest assured regardless that your cries for help are always heard and answered.
Types of prayer
There are different kinds of prayers which the Bible reveals from God’s perspective which are as follows;
Intercession – Daniel begun to intercede for the Children of Israel as the Lord revealed their sins (See Daniel 9). Moses also interceded for the Children of Israel on numerous occasions.
Supplication- the Word of the Lord reveals in Philippians 4:6 that we should supplicate and not worry about anything. Worrying adds no value to any situations but prayer brings forth a change in every situation.
Petitions- 1 John 5:14-15. Every petition in line with God’s will, He hears and answers. Be rest assured that your petitions shall be answered.
Does God really answer prayers?
Be rest assured that God answers prayers as long as it is prayed in His Will and according to His Word. God cannot be lie, He is faithful when we are even unfaithful because He cannot deny Himself so be rest assured that whenever a prayer is made according to God’s Word in faith it shall be answered. See James 1:6-8.
Daniel prayed he was answered by God the same honour he prayed. Daniel 10
Hannah prayed she was answered. 1 Samuel chapter 1
This is just to name the few biblical people, there are countless of times people prayed according to God’s Word in faith and they were answered by God.
I personally prayed not just one time but always and have seen results. Have faith in the Lord and He will never pass you by.
How does one know God hears him?
In order to know your prayer has been heard you need to trust the Lord that by virtue of you praying according to His Word He has heard you. For instance John 14:14 reveals that if you ask anything in the name of Jesus you shall receive so by virtue of a person praying in line with God’s Word the Word of the Lord becomes the blessed assurance that your prayer has been heard.
God hold’s a record of being faithful at all time to His Word see Isaiah 55:11. And He is not going to break the record on your account. He is faithful, so you can be rest assured. If you doubt a lot I encourage by saying have faith for the Lord will never put you to shame.
How does God answer prayers?
God answer prayer in three fold. Yes-No-Wait.
In John chapter 11. When it was asked of Jesus to come when Lazarus fell sick Jesus did not respond to the call because He had to wait till the appointed time. So it is that when we also pray it might seem that things are getting worse but we need to hold on because Jesus is going to show up on time. Wait comes into the equation because it is not the right time for a manifestation of God Word. At times when you ask God for something do not jump to conclusion that He has not heard you, or even think you might be asking for the wrong thing. When Jesus was called forth when Lazarus was sick it wasn’t a bad request but Jesus had to respond in season. In man’s eyes Jesus responded late, because when He got there Lazarus was dead four days in total but at the right season and manifestation of God’s presence Lazarus came back to life. When you pray and it seems that God it is taking long on God’s part don’t worry help from heaven is waiting for the right time/opportunity for a massive manifestation. Even though at times things get worse from your perspective do not lose faith in God because He is a God of impossibilities being made possible. Never stop praying about things, continually pray trusting the Lord.
At times God answers by giving us straight answers such as no and yes.
